experiences and thoughts about daily life honoring abundance and getting in touch with it, in nature, cities and all around us

  • Unfiltered thoughts on Abundance of Time in this beautiful fall:

Living in Abundance means a lot of things to me , such as a deep feeling on plentifulness, a spiritual and physical connection to the realm of nature& life. I try to honor Abundance every day in very simple ways like acknowledging it/noticing it, praising it, going to forage or enjoying what is in the season like cold wind and plenty of light and pecans on this beautiful fall. Abundance brings a lot of happiness to my life indeed. For every person in this planet, the path to reconnect or keep connected to Abundance looks different.

But there is a very concrete way (in fact, the oldest way) to be honoring and connecting to Abundance and that is to honor her thru the appreciation of her gifts collectively. To me, the mission of the AKC is to bring back this specific ways of connecting, honoring, celebrating and protecting Abundance thru the resources we have and share, collectively.

But not all is fuzzy and beautiful feelings when we acknowledge Abundance and try to live under her shelter. In my view, one of the main damages capitalism has done to us human species is the fabrication of the illusion of scarcity of time. Under Capitalism time is money, time always move in one direction to achieve, produce or go forward to the next thing therefore we always have a task, we are full of things to do thru our day,we are always moving to the next thing to accumulate cool ideas, experiences and don’t want to miss anything! We must work until exhaustion or death other ways we will be in scarcity omg!

This is not just true for so called “normy” people but also for “ anticapitalist” “anti extractivist” “ anti-colonial” or social justice/ woke/activist/organizer folks. Just as normy people, scarcity of time is a big thing in our bubbles. Abundance questions and confront my own time scarcity and question my own excuses “i need to survive and navigate systems of oppression”. But, as i mentioned before, the AKC is a project of building and webbing primarily (at least at this point) with other humans and that needs a lot time invested in human relationships. And thats is a problem because under capitalism time scarcity is a real thing for a lot of people.

I am still trying to figure out how to fight myself time scarcity under capitalism.

but the end of the day is a good thing that Abundance also confronts me and  makes me feel uncomfortable at times as i am distrustful of ideas that are always making me feel happy, comfy or groovy. The scarcity of time vs Abundance of time topic is always in my mind, especially nowadays when  i am trying to Webb with people from so many places and contexts. I thank Abundance too for this feelings of uneasiness and for challenging the ways i was raised in relationship to time as a resource and the ways i keep dealing with time up to this day. It’s a long process i know, and i don’t every look for perfection but for the destruction of the myth of time scarcity under capitalism.

Today is a slow motion day and i enjoy the different ways Sun is moving thru my porch this beautiful fall.

  • “She loves when we do this honoring Collectively”

Every day I try to honor Abundance.

The more I do, the more i discover Abundance all around me.

Abundance of food, medicine, love, thought and ideas, connections, inspiration and much more.

The tree in my backyard gives her yummy pecans to all the earthlings around her every fall and all we have to do is to honor her by picking up her gifts and enjoy them.

She loves when we do this honoring Collectively.

She is also a shelter to Cardenas and other birds and many other species!

In our Nashville AKC we will be making pecan cookies for us and our loved ones.

Honor Abundance, learn from her, every day for she is the most powerful, wise and inspiring teacher against extractivism, capitalism, individualism.

Blessed be the pecan tree in the backyard,
    Blessed be Tlan!
